This is a series of stories about the smoking culture of the 1960s. Although the stories are narrated in the first person, and some of the details coincide with the facts of my own life, there’s a lot of made-up material. In other words, this is fiction. Please don’t take everything that’s said at face value.

While you’re reading these stories, do keep in mind that regardless of the permissive attitudes toward smoking that prevailed several decades ago, we now know that smoking is bad for you and the people around you. I don’t smoke anymore. You shouldn’t either. End of sermon.
